Emmerdale fans are predicting a steamy affair between Jimmy King and Mandy Dingle after spotting some sexual tension during Tuesday night's episode.
It came as Jimmy revealed to his wife Nicola that he had pleaded not guilty during his preliminary trial for the murder of Paul Ashdale, after Mandy helped to convince him he wasn't responsible.
Later, Jimmy came to Mandy's salon to thank her for her support, but announced: "I've no idea why I've come."
Mandy cheekily suggested: "Back, sac and crack?"
"I think I'll leave the manscaping for another day, thanks," a downtrodden Jimmy replied. "I've been through enough pain already today."
Later, he admitted: "I just needed someone to talk to."
"That's what friends are for," Mandy reminded him – but it was clear Jimmy wanted more than just friendship.
He replied: "You mean a lot more to me than that. I'm serious, you do."
The businessman quickly fled from the salon before he could say any more, leaving Mandy – and soap fans – stunned in his wake.
"Hmmm, Jimmy & Mandy are getting close!" one fan quickly posted to Twitter, as another echoed: "Jimmy what? I really like Mandy, also really like Nicola. Oh dear!"
"Mandy's face when Jimmy tells her that he's started to have feelings for her! LOL!" someone else posted.
"I think Mandy and Jimmy are well suited, he needs someone who doesn't take pleasure from humiliating him and she needs someone she can trust," a fourth viewer typed.
Others weren't so sure about the duo's compatibility – especially as it would mean Jimmy technically cheating on his wife Nicola King.
"Emmerdale really out here destroying Jimmy & Nicola!" one angry fan said.
"I can't see them working well together," another posted.
"Not Jimmy and Mandy FGS I couldn't bear it!" ranted another, as someone else penned: "I can't think of anything worse than Jimmy and Mandy together. This is even worse than Bob and Laurel's affair. Just. make it stop."
Jimmy had another rather tense confrontation with his wife on Tuesday night, as he admitted to her that he hadn't pleaded guilty at his hearing.
