Bex Gadd says the late thrower's stint in the jungle had a "massive effect" on him.
Eric died from a heart attack in April this year, aged 60.
The Craft Cockney once said you "find out a lot about yourself" in the trying Oz tropics.
But Bex told the Mirror: "“It changed him for ever. The Eric that went in the jungle was not the same Eric that came out, unfortunately.
"It did make him poorly and a much frailer person. Muscles that he did have, never came back.
“The effects of being in the jungle took a massive toll on Eric’s health.
"I don’t think he ever fully recovered from it."
She added: "I do worry about Harry given he is in his 70s.”
Eric, famed for downing 15 pints of Guinness at the bar lost four stone in I'm A Celeb and finished in fourth place.

Bex added: "It’s a big worry for the ones who are not fit, young and healthy."
