Ferne McCann broke down in tears on Tuesday's First Time Mum as she emotionally split from ex Jack Padgett.

The former TOWIE star, 31, and Jack, 26, parted ways in June and their breakup was shown during the latest instalment of her ITVBe reality show.

Giving fans a candid insight into her emotional split, a crying Ferne said that Jack had ignored her text after their split

The emotional star said: "I still feel like I'm in a state of shock, like I text him last night saying: 'It's so weird not knowing what you're up to. Not hearing from you, not sleeping next to you.' He just read my message and didn't reply…"

Later on, Ferne revealed that she had messaged Jack again and that he hadn't replied, she declared: "He didn't even have the decency to message me back again, it made me realise I deserve better than this!"

The reality star also vowed to go for an older man next time, talking to her best friend of what she was looking for next she said: "Actually, now I know, I'm 31 this year. Sunday's going to be four, she goes to school at the end of the year.

"That needs to be my focus, you're not just going to be in a relationship with me, you get the love of Sunday too. What a wonderful bonus!"

Asked whether she was going to look for an "older" man, she continued: "You know what, I want a man… I'm going to change my age range. Where it used to be 23 to 28, alright, 21! Where it was a young toy boy , now… 30 to 40 just sounds so old!"

Ferne then clarified she would be looking for a man between 30 to 35, joking that it was a "big deal" for her.

She added: "As much as I have found these younger toy boys attractive, they are just not on my wave length. I need good conversation!"

Ferne ended the episode positively, as she confidently declared: "Looking forward to moving on with my life and there's plenty more fish in the sea!"

It comes after sources told OK! that Ferne will find it difficult watching her ex-boyfriend on her TV screen after their break up.

The source said: "Ferne will find it really hard having to watch the new series and seeing Jack play such a big part on the show now that they have split up."

OK! approached Ferne's representative for comment at the time.

The documentary follows Ferne navigating through the challenges of motherhood as a single, first time mum with three year old daughter Sunday.

The reality star parted ways from Jack in June, and has since been said to want to find love again with someone "a bit older".

"I think Ferne will be looking for someone a bit older than her now. She wants to settle down,” the source told new!

They then added: "She’s spoken about wanting a sibling for Sunday, so I think she’s ready.”

Ferne previously spoke about her relationship with Jack following their split, admitting the pandemic "accelerated" their time as a couple.

"At the start of lockdown, a lot of couples made the decision to move in together quicker than perhaps they normally would, which is what we did,” the mum of one said.

"But in the end, it also accelerated our break-up because coming out of lockdown, and the world opening back up, meant suddenly our lives were very different. We were like passing ships."

However, Ferne later confessed she had “no regrets” about her time with Jack.

"When one door closes, another one always opens,” she optimistically shared.
