Gangs of London fans all say the same thing as thriller dubbed 'goriest TV show EVER' drops season 2 trailer

A TEASER trailer has dropped for the second season of Sky's record-breaking drama Gangs of London – and it promises even more action than the first instalment.

The upcoming series will hit screens later this year, with what the network is calling an "ambitious, visceral, action-packed thriller".

In case you missed it, the show’s first season followed the Wallace family and their loss of patriarch Finn.

His assassination came as a real shock to everyone, resulting in his son Sean taking over as head of London’s most powerful crime group.

However, Sean didn’t realise that one of his biggest enemies was rather close to home, with undercover cop Elliott infiltrating the family.

On top of that, he had the Kurdish Freedom Fighters, the Pakistani Drug Cartel, Welsh travellers and other criminal bodies to answer to.

After a thrilling first season, the second promises to be even more dramatic, especially with viewers on the edge of their sets following Sean’s confrontation of Elliott in the first season finale.

An official synopsis for the upcoming second season reads: "One year after the death of Sean Wallace and the violent reckonings of series one, the map and soul of London has been redrawn.

"The surviving Wallaces are scattered, the Dumanis broken and estranged, and Elliot is now being forced to work for the Investors."

It continues: "As the Investors look down on a city sliding into chaos, they decide enough is enough and bring in reinforcements to restore control.

"Old favourites and new players fight back against the new order, forcing sworn enemies to work together and family members to betray each other. Who will win the battle for London’s soul?"

Gangs of London arrived in April 2020 and the crime drama went on to win four awards at Wales’ biggest film and TV awards ceremony the following year.

The TV series won awards for photography and lighting, sound, editing and production design in Bafta Cymru.

It has since been dubbed a "modern day Peaky Blinders" thanks to its ambitious storytelling and visceral viewing experience, with a modern take on gang dramas.

Gangs of London season 2 airs on Sky and NOW later this year.
