Hollywood A-lister SNUBBED Strictly's request to film special message for Oti Mabuse and Ugo Monye

HOLLYWOOD giant Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson "ignored" a request to record a message for Strictly's Movie Week, according to Rylan Clark-Neal.

The It Takes Two host, 32, claimed producers reached out to the A-list star ahead of Oti Mabuse and Ugo Monye's Moana performance on Saturday night.

Professional dancer Oti and rugby player Ugo danced to You're Welcome, taken from the Disney film's soundtrack and sung by The Rock.

But Rylan told the pair that the 49-year-old US actor – who played the character Maui in the huge hit – snubbed the request.

Speaking to Oti and Ugo on Tuesday night's Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, Rylan said: "We thought…you did put a lot into it, so we wanted to give you something in return."

Looking excited, Ugo asked: "The wig?!"

Rylan replied: "It's not the wig, I've actually taken that home!

"We know how much this dance meant to you and we thought why don't we get a message from Maui himself."

But just as Oti and Ugo's eyes grew wide, Rylan continued: "So we reached out to Dwayne The Rock Johnson…and he ignored our pleas!"

CONSOLATION PRIZE

Oti, 31, and Ugo, 38, burst into laughter, as Rylan attempted to soften the blow: "Instead, I stayed up last night and I thought I'd make you something nice," he told the dancing duo.

Ugo was then given a 'Rock Of Ugo', made from a large stone, some goggly eyes and wool for hair.

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left in hysterics at the scenes, although many have now urged Dwayne to get in touch with Strictly bosses.

One tweeted: "The most hilarious thing I’d seen in ages. Hook, line and sinker!"

Another added: "@TheRock you have to send them a video now @[email protected]!!"

A third penned: "@Rylan Absolutely brutal! But so, so funny! Unlucky Ugo!"

And a fourth begged: "@TheRock please reach out to them! #yourewelcome."

Ugo and Oti finished in sixth place on the leaderboard following Movie Week.

Fans had to bid farewell to Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn and her pro Gorka Marquez after the judges' voted to send them home.
