Love Island viewers were furious tonight when fan favourite Hugo Hammond was left in tears after accidentally upsetting Faye Winter and Sharon Gaffka.
The drama started on the ITV2 show when school teacher Hugo, 24, said he didn’t like “fake” girls, and proceeded to clarify that meant “personalities and looks”.
Faye, who has had breast implants and botox treatments, and Sharon, who has had lip fillers, started simmering with anger straight away, but things got decidedly worse.
Hugo continued to reiterate he didn’t like “fakeness” in women, prompting uproar from the two Islanders.
Sharon stormed off to the benches with Rachel Finni for a chat, and Hugo was completely puzzled over what he’d supposedly done wrong.
Hugo apologised to Sharon, but burst into tears as the emotions got too much and she shared her anger over his comments, telling the government policy writer he was worried he’d “let her down”.
While the two Islanders cleared the air, Hugo’s following chat with Faye ended with the 26 year old angrily telling him about the heartbreak she suffered with her appearance and self-esteem as a teen.
Faye informed Hugo her struggles escalated to the point that her parents relented and gave their daughter money for a boob job when she turned 18.
Having watched the drama unfold, hordes of viewers flocked to Twitter to claim Faye and Sharon’s behaviour over Hugo’s comments was outrageous.

“Blown way out of proportion, the girls actually bullied Hugo there #LoveIsland,” one person raged.
Another shocked fan exclaimed: “The girls definitely Expected the public to support them PFFFTTTT #LoveIsland.”
“Yeahhh Faye & Sharon just became my least favourite #LoveIsland,” a third declared, followed by: “no bc why do they like to bully hugo?? he literally did nothing wrong #loveisland.”
A fifth reasoned: “Hugo just got asked his preference and gave it. I wanna hug him #loveisland.”
“Faye and Sharon are bullies soz, they’ve just made a boy cry by ganging up on him, none of the other girls were bothered. they did it maliciously because they don’t like him and Faye saying she doesn’t give a f**k if he’s crying, says a lot #LoveIsland,” another person added.
However, others thought Hugo could have chosen his words better, as one person said: “Hugo crying is top tier acting #LoveIsland.”
“No but he didn't need to actually cry. Seriously, you're crying because you made people upset. Are you a child #LoveIsland,” another viewer complained.
