Love Island returned this evening, after the broadcaster decided to put the show on a two night hiatus following the news of Caroline Flack’s death on Saturday. Tributes have poured in from across the world to remember the former host of the show, however, voice-over presenter Iain Stirling, 32, began this evening’s instalment by paying respect to his friend. ITV viewers were left in tears as the narrator gave his heartfelt tribute.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “That got me right in the feels there … honestly tragic #LoveIsland.”
Another added: “Are we all crying over Ian Stirling or is it just me #LoveIsland.”
Whilst a third commented: “Choked up at that tribute there the silence of it with just Iain’s voiceover was beautifully done. RIP Caroline. #LoveIsland.”
A fourth opined: “that tribute to caroline really did bring a tear to my eye. rip, this really hitting #LoveIsland [sic].”
