We really feel like we’re repeating oursevles now but…what a night!
Not only did the villa lose one of its biggest personalities (if not the biggest) as Shaughna Phillips made her exit, but one of the villa’s strongest couples in the form of Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman finally made it official.
We’ve got fairytales, heartbreak and someone stuffing someones full fist inside their mouth.
Strap in, boys and girls!
Shaughna was dumped from the villa – we miss you already babes
Like Icarus from Greek legend, Shaughna flew too far, too fast and found her wings melted by the sun.
Which is a roundabout way of saying, basically, that after her relationship with Callum Jones was ruined with Casa Amor, our girl was sent into a headspin that she never quite recovered from.
Despite clearly being the People’s Champion, Shaughna didn’t play the game of Love Island well, a friendship coupling with Wallace would have meant an easy path into the final week and, hopefully, the dream man that producers much have surely had ready and waiting for her.
In the end, it was her bizarre decision to convince herself that she had feelings for Luke M that was the death knoll for her time in the villa.
‘I’m glad I went out on a genuine note,’ the 25-year-old said after her exit. ‘And didn’t force anything with anyone else.’
Goodbye, hun – we miss you already.
Siannise and Luke T made us all cry by making it official
Fair play to Luke T, he really knows his audience.
Not only was his fairytale-inspired quest the perfect way to ask Siannise to be his girlfriend, it also ensured that he’ll be booking a two-week holiday to Disneyworld Florida as soon as he’s out of the villa. Congrats!
On a serious note, however, it was lovely to see Siannise and Luke T finally make their blossoming romance official, which has truly gone strength to strength since Casa Amor.
Riding on the coattails of Paige and Finn, they’re now the second official couple in the villa – does this mean this is a two-horse race to the final?
Paige proved it really is Friend Island, not Love Island
It may be front and centre in the title of the show itself, but Love Island has never really been about love.
The biggest and best part of the show has always been the friendships forged in the fires of the villa and their ability to withstand any romantic troubles. We’re talking Chris and Kem. Amber and Olivia. Amber and Anna.
No two better exemplified Friend Island this year than Shaughna and Paige, and it was genuinely gutting to see both girls so upset that their time together was over.
‘This is hard,’ Shaughna told Paige. ‘I found someone that I love. No, I did, I did and I cant wait to see you again.’
‘I’m just gutted you won’t be here,’ Paige replied, to which Shaughna wept: ‘I’m going to miss you so much, I really am.’
We’re not crying, you are!
Ched sucked on Jess’s hand
Sorry, but did anyone else see this man full on insert this woman’s fingers into his mouth and lick them?
Look, there are some things that should never be shown on telly. Scrub it from existence like the Queen did the Royal Family documentary from the 60s, please ITV.
Can we go back to discussions about feminism instead?
Love Island continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV2.
