Roxy Willis (played by Zima Anderson) and Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan) have been loved up since they first got together last year on Neighbours. Over the past 12 months, the pair have faced a whole manner of hurdles, including Sheila Canning (Colette Mann) trying to break up the youngsters as she didn’t feel the young barmaid was the right fit for her grandson. However, as a face from the past makes a return to the Channel 5 soap in the coming weeks, they could provide a whole new set of challenges for Roxy and her boyfriend as the former could be about the cheat on Kyle.
In recent scenes on the show, Roxy has been determined to see the back of Amy Greenwood (Jacinta Stapleton) after the latter supposedly stole the job of the manager of the Flamingo bar from the youngster.
The two women have been locked in a bitter feud for weeks but this week’s episodes have seen them getting on a lot better to ensure Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) doesn’t fire them both from their roles.
Unfortunately, this could come too little too late to save Roxy’s relationship with Kyle as he has been left disappointed with the way his girlfriend has been acting towards her boss.
Although the two women might agree to set their difference aside, the young heartthrob could begin to rethink his romance having seen a different side to Willis girl.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the actress who plays Roxy, Zima teased the future of her character’s relationship and a possible affair storyline on the horizon when Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) returns.
The soap star explained: “Kyle, just like he doesn’t like Sheila getting in everyone else’s business, he’s a bit disappointed in Roxy.
“But at the same time, I think he does a really good boyfriend duty of you’ve got to have your girl’s back.
“And he is really proud of what she does and who she is as a person and he thinks that she’s worthy of being the manager.
“So I feel like he’s a little bit split as he’s disappointed with her evil side but at the same time, he’s like, ‘You deserve the job’.
“He’s very disappointed in her, and I guess when you notice a loved one being selfish you have to really give it to them because you’re the only person who can.”
Never know what is going to happen
Whether there is longevity for the couple, Zima explained: “I think they work so well together and it’s Erinsborough so we never know what is going to happen. It’s crazy up in Erinsborough.
“But, at the same time, she’s had such difficulties with men and she’s finally found a good one. I hope that they are for the long run, I hope so.
“You never know though, it’s so dramatic but I definitely think that it’s one of the greatest loves that Roxy has had on the street and she would be lost without him 100 percent.”
If they were to struggle through this latest hurdle, Roxy could see herself leaning towards Leo for support.
The youngsters ran a bar together during Leo’s first stint on the show but they never pursued a romance, so could this be the perfect time for an affair?
Zima added: “[Roxy] do share a couple of scenes with Leo, which is super exciting because I love Tim as well. Tim is an absolute legend.
“We get along so well. So we do have a few things but I can’t say too much. I reckon they should have got more storylines together because they had so much fun
“But being part of the Canning family, I feel Roxy didn’t get to be all in on it but they do have some scenes together which is good.”
Could Roxy be set to betray her boyfriend Kyle as the going gets tough, sleeping with Leo instead as she seeks emotional support?
Or if they are as strong as the actress claims they are, will Roxy resist the devil inside her and stay loyal to her man?
Leo is returning to the show after leaving Ramsay Street as a regular character back in 2019 before making a guest appearance at the start of last year.
Having been back on the set since mid-March, the actor who plays Paul’s son, Tim, has teased what’s to come from his character’s storyline.
The soap star explained: “I wasn’t too sure what the storyline would be, but they gave me hints and it sounded awesome.
“It’s a really good storyline that I haven’t seen done before. I couldn’t say no. It was just so appealing to go back,” he told Digital Spy.
The troublesome character will be sticking around until the end of this year in what is set to be a very dramatic stint.
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1:45pm and 5:30pm on Channel 5.
