Phillip Schofield demands clarity from Priti Patel over ‘confusing’ rules: ‘Annoys people’

GMB: Kate Garraway and Priti Patel clash on vaccine rollout

Home Secretary Priti Patel appeared on the ITV magazine show to speak out on a new codeword scheme to help victims of domestic abuse seek help and access services more easily. However, the hosting duo of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield went on to ask her about a range of other issues, including the guidelines set out by the UK Government to help tackle coronavirus. But with many of the rules being followed wrongly by members of the public, Schofield reminded the MP the misinterpretation  “it gets annoying” due to a lack of “clarity”.

Ms Patel was welcomed onto the show to head-up the new campaign launched by the Government to protect domestic abuse victims.

After the issue had been covered, the hosts quizzed the Home Secretary on other important matters at hand.

Coronavirus deaths rose to the highest reported figure in a single day on Wednesday, with 1,564 people having sadly lost their lives.

However, with the figures not showing much sign of slowing down, Schofield asked Ms Patel whether there would be stricter rules introduced in days and weeks to come.
