Phillip Schofield scolds Davina McCall for saying This Morning’s banned word in awkward slip-up

Phillip Schofield called out Davina McCall on Thursday’s This Morning after she said one of the show’s banned word.

Davina hosted the ITV show on Thursday with Phillip Schofield as Holly Willoughby missed a second day.

However, viewers saw Phillip scold Davina during the show’s fashion segment when she said one of the show’s banned words – cheap.

Davina, 53, loved Gok Wan's style suggestions and praised a £26 pair of boots for being "cheap".

She said: “I love the boots, I like all the really cheap shoes – it's so good!"

Phil quickly leaned over to correct his co-host, telling her: "Budget, budget. Never cheap, never cheap."

Gok then added: "Affordable!"

Davina quickly apologised for her accidental mistake, asking: "We're not allowed to say cheap? Sorry, I don't know the words – I'm just happy they're under £30!"

It comes as Holly Willoughby has worried fans as she missed This Morning for a second day, with Davina hosting instead of her.

As the ITV show opened on Thursday morning, Davina stood next to Phillip Schofield, who explained Holly’s absence.

He said: “Holly is having a day off, she is back on Monday. Davina is hosting with me today.”

On Wednesday, 39-year-old Holly was also absent, and her replacement Alison Hammond explained that she was having a "well deserved day off".

However fans are concerned about Holly and took to Twitter to ask about the star.

One person wrote: “@hollywills aww no no holly again. I hope everything is ok sweetheart hope to see you back soon.”

Another said: “You know you’ve been out of work too long when you’ve notice it’s the second day without @hollywills on This Morning and you’re scouring the internet for answers as to why! WHERE ARE YOU HOLLY?!?!”
