Piers Morgan made his feelings clear losing out to Ant and Dec at the National Television Awards on Thursday night.

Piers was up against Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly for TV presenter at the awards, which the duo took home for the 20th – that’s right, 20th – year in a row.

Of course the former Good Morning Britain host wasn’t going to let their triumph go without some sort of social media barb.

The broadcaster sarcastically praised them for giving I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! contestants a grilling over the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, something he and GMB co-host Susanna Reid did week in week out until he quit.

He tweeted shortly after the Saturday Night Takeaway hosts left the stage: ‘Wow! What a shock! Congrats to Ant & Dec.

‘Thoroughly deserved 20th consecutive win – the way they held those jungle contestants to account during the pandemic was absolutely brilliant.’

Ant and Dec meanwhile looked genuinely moved by the win, insisting that they are grateful to viewers every time they take the trophy home.
