The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City became the newest addition to the Real Housewives franchise in November 2020. In the premiere episode, fans were introduced to Jen Shah, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose, and Mary Cosby. With most of the new housewives having history with each other prior to the premiere, two housewives started off on the wrong foot from before the director even yelled “Action!”
Heather and Lisa had an official “I don’t know her” moment after Lisa was accused of downplaying how they met. Heather and Lisa went to school together, and while Heather seemed to be under the impression that they were good friends at Brigham Young University and “knew each other for 20 years,” Lisa told a different story. Lisa claimed they “kind of” know each other, but said that she doesn’t “remember her from school.” Lisa also mentioned that Heather had not taken the honor code at the school seriously, flashing other people on the campus. The accusation against the self-proclaimed “pioneer Mormon” was enough to put the two housewives at odds with each other.
Lisa Barlow says Heather Gay is "a lot of fun"
Of course, Jen Shah had to go back and tell Heather Gay what Lisa Barlow had said. Jen, stirring the pot, told Heather that Lisa had been spreading rumors of Heather being a “good-time girl,” suggesting that she was flashing her chest around campus, Girls-Gone-Wild style. Jen also dished on Lisa’s “honor code” comment, and a clearly-offended Heather went on to call Lisa out for telling “a complete lie and a dig.”
However, during a cast appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen after the episode aired, Lisa confirmed how the two know each other. “I do know Heather now,” Lisa shared. “We met through a mutual friend, Angela, three years ago when I helped with a bar for Heather’s business.” Hmmm, only three years ago and not 20 like Heather claimed? She also cleared up her “good time girl” comments on Heather saying her co-star “was a lot of fun.” “She was like, ‘Woo, the good time, fun girl.’ Not a good time girl, but a good time,” Lisa explained. While Heather still appeared bothered by Lisa’s claims, the VIDA tequila owner assured her that it was a “total compliment.” Given that this all happened in the first episode, it seems we’re in for a long, shady season.
