THE Crown season four has only just been released but already fans want to know when their favourite royals will be back for more.
Now viewers are begging to know when a fifth series of the Windsor dynasty drama will be dropping on Netflix.
Will there be season five of The Crown?
Good news, there WILL be a season five of The Crown, but we could be in for a bit of a wait.
According to Deadline, filming will not kick off until June 2021.
This means the series won't hit our screens until 2022.
That production break was apparently always on the cards and has nothing to do with the coronavirus pandemic, which has halted filming on many programmes across the world.

- Queen Elizabeth – Played by Harry Potter star Imelda Staunton
- Prince Philip – Played by Game of Thrones star Jonathan Pryce
- Princess Margaret – Played by Harlots star Lesley Manville
- Princess Diana – Played by Night Manager star Elizabeth Debicki
- Prince Charles – The Affair's Dominic West is reportedly set to play Charles, but that has yet to be confirmed
Other people that have yet to be cast are:
- The Queen Mother
- Camilla Parker Bowles
- Princess Anne
- Prince Andrew
- Prince Edward
- Prime Minister John Major
- Prime Minister Tony Blair
What will be the time period for The Crown season five?
The series will be starting from 1992, and the 90s was a very eventful decade for the royals.
Netflix are yet to confirm what season five will cover, but this decade was when Princess Anne officially divorced Captain Mark Phillips.
It was also when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson announced that they were splitting, followed by some photos of the Duchess of York on holiday with American businessman John Bryan.
Another key event likely to be shown would be the fire at Windsor Castle.
This decade was also when Prince Charles and Princess Diana finally announced their separation, but their divorce was not finalised until August 28, 1996.
Diana's tragic death in 1997 is also likely to be shown.
How did The Crown season four end?

Charles and Diana's relationship featured heavily in season four of the hit Netflix show.
The fourth series of The Crown wrapped up at Christmas 1990.
Margaret Thatcher was no longer PM after resigning in November that same year.
Meanwhile, Charles and Diana, despite repeated attempts by the Prince of Wales to divorce, were still married.
However, the end saw Diana affectively being ousted from the family after starting her affair up again with James Hewitt – despite the fact Charles was still seeing Camilla Parker-Bowles.
