The Masked Singer’s Mel B told off by bosses for breaking strict show rule

Spice Girls legend Mel B became the latest famous face to be unasked on The Masked Singer UK on Saturday night.

The 45-year-old pop star was revealed to be Seahorse with celebrity panel Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora correctly identifying her.

Fourth panellist Jonathan Ross, however, was adamant it wasn't her as he had "heard Mel singing up close" before.

Comedian Mo pointed out the Wannabe singer's trademark Leeds accent straight away but the pop legend has admitted that she almost gave the game away before the show even aired.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press about the extreme measures in place to keep contestants' identity a secret, Mel said: "You wear balaclava, a visor and a hoody thats says 'Don't speak to me'.

"You're completely in disguise. We even wore gloves and everything is covered.

"I did have – because I am a big fan of leopard print – I did arrive with my leopard print bag and leopard-print ear pods.

"But I was told to cover them up. They were like 'Noooo! You're meant to wear everything in plain black'."

Scary Spice performed Kyle Minogue hit Can't Get You Out of My Head on the show, in an attempt to throw judges off the scent by singing differently.

However, ex-Big Brother host Davina explained that it was her pronunciation of the word "show" in the VT played before her performance which gave it away.

Hot Right Now singer Rita joked that Mel she was just "too iconic".

Discussing her trademark accent that got her rumbled on the show, Mel explained: "I'm a Leeds girl through and through.

"My accent is part of me. It is not going anywhere. I wouldn't change it, unless it was an acting role.

"I am not going to try and fit in with anybody. This is me."

Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor was unmasked as the Alien on the first show which aired on Boxing Day.
