This Morning fans delighted as Holly and Phil go football mad after Euros win

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were overjoyed on Thursday's show as they celebrated England's landmark win over Denmark in the Euros – with the iconic TV duo bursting out into loud football chants on the show.

This Morning presenters Holly and Phil were in full celebration mode as they kicked off Thursday's show by shouting "it's coming home!" and waving around their England flags in a studio kitted out with England football bunting.

Starting their chat show with a patriotic bang, Holly and Phil took to blasting fan-favourite anthems like Three Lions (It's Coming Home) by the Lightning Seeds and at one point Holly got so excited she accidentally broke her flag.

It follows England's milestone semi-final win against Denmark on Wednesday night at Wembley Stadium, in a nail-biting football game which went to extra time and ended up seeing England progress to the big final on Sunday against Italy with a 2-1 win.

A delighted Holly said: "What a night, what a night it was. We're in the final against Italy on Sunday."

Phil then admitted that he found the Euros victory emotional, turning to Holly and saying: "It was quite emotional, wasn't it?"

Mum-of-three Holly agreed and replied: "Really emotional. Every time a goal went in I cried."

She then went on to say that having kids made the night extra special for her: "Particularly when you've got kids as well I think it's the memories you're making for them as well.

"I was looking at all three of them sitting there as well and was thinking 'you're going to remember this."

Phil then declared that the win was desperately needed to restore the country's national mood in such testing times amid the covid pandemic.

He told Holly: "But also, how desperately in need are we all for some good news?" to which Holly replied: "I know."

A third fan wrote: "Amazing reactions!" before attaching some England flag emojis to sign off.

A fourth footy-loving fan was quite emotional and commented: "Still got tears coming out of my eyes this morning. We're in the final of a life time. I'm so proud of you boys!"

A fifth tweeter loved how united the country has seemed since the Euros began, adding: "It's good for the country to be celebrating together and cheer on the England team… I'm not a football fan but couldn't be happier for Gareth and his men."
