Who is representing Germany at Eurovision 2019? Meet Sisters who will be performing S!sters

DESPITE their stage name, German girl group S!sters are actually not related to one another. In fact, they only started performing together recently.

But that hasn’t stopped the double act from proving just how committed they are in winning the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest and ultimately take home the winner's prize back to Germany. Here’s all you need to know about S!sters and their song Sister…

Who is Germany’s 2019 Eurovision entry S!sters?

As mentioned, these “sisters” aren’t siblings.

The group consists of Carlotta Truman Laurita Spinelli, real name Laura Kästel.

The latter is currently working as a background singer for German singer Lena – according to DW – who famously won the contest back in 2010.

Laurita is currently in the process of composing and producing songs for her upcoming debut album, but there’s been no release date set for the project just yet.

Carlotta, on the other hand, has been building a presence of her own, after having starred in The Voice Kids Germany in 2014.

She ended up reaching the final before going on to perform on Willkommen 2018 – the country version of Jools’ Annual Hootenanny.

It goes without saying that both ladies are very experienced when it comes to singing and performing in front of a live audience, that’s for sure.

What is Germany’s Eurovision 2019 song called?

S!sters will perform their song Sister during the grand finale at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest on May 18, 2019.

The powerful ballad was penned by Laurell Barker, who is also behind UK’s qualified song Bigger Than Us, which will be performed by Michael Rice.

She also holds writing credits on Switzerland’s She Got Me; LUCA Hänni will sing the track in the second semi-final.

Carlotta and Laurita go back and forth in expressing their emotions, singing: “I'm tired, tired of always losing/ I tried to stop your fire/ Turns out that I couldn’t.”

But it seems that competing against one another has really taken its toll, the two continue to share in the track.

“I'm tired, tired of competing/I tried to hold you under/But honey, you kept breathing.”
