A BOOZED-UP Brit had it All Coming Back to Him – after officially changing his name to Celine Dion during a Christmas session.
The lad, formerly known as Thomas Dodd, could not remember spending £90 on an official deed poll tribute to the Canadian pop diva after admittedly sinking a "few too many vinos" on Christmas Eve.
The nightclub manager, 31, was left stunned days later when his name-change documents arrived in the post.
Celine, formerly Thomas, from Tamworth, Staffs, said: "I must have got so p****d and thought it would be a good idea.
"I couldn't believe it when all the paperwork arrived days later.
"It's going to cost me £90 to change back.
"Or I might just keep it for the laughs. 2020 was such a downbeat year after all and this has given me and my pals and housemate plenty of laughs."
Celine said his biggest worry is what he tells the HR department at work.
He said: "I need to change the email footer and address now.
"I’m also praying I don’t get pulled over by the police for anything – that could get awkward.
“My mum hasn’t seen the funny side and my sister nearly choked on her sandwich.
THE POWER OF LOVE
“But I must admit I absolutely love Celine Dion so it feels good being able to share her name.
“Shame we can’t do the same with her bank balance.” In June we told how a joker changed his name to Fire Exit to guarantee his dream of seeing it up in lights."
Speaking to Birmingham Live, the Think Twice singer superfan said: "I'm slightly obsessed with her, I'm not going to lie.
"I’m just praying I don’t get pulled over by the police for anything – that could get awkward. More annoyingly I’ve paid for eight extra certificates to prove it and they are £10 each."
Deano Wilson, 39, pulled the stunt after being inspired by comic Joe Lycett, who changed his name to Hugo Boss.
