Donald Trump Austin rally LIVE news — Former president slams Dems on American Freedom Tour & vows to 'take back the US'

FORMER President Donald Trump took the stage on Saturday night as part of the American Freedom Tour in a blistering speech that saw him slam Democrats as he urged Republicans to "fight."

Trump was joined by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo along with a number of conservative speakers at the Austin Convention Center, situated at 500 E Cesar Chavez Street.

The former president said: "I ask you to get ready to work, get ready to fight, get ready to win — and win like never before.

“Together, we will take back the House, we will take the Senate, and we will take back our country.”

Those who spoke also included Trump's son Donald Trump Jr, Dinesh D'Souza, Kevin Sorbo, Ted Nugent, and Kimberley Guilfoyle.

This is a different event than the Save America rallies Trump has also been presiding over.

    Trump has backed Attorney General Ken Paxton who he dubbed “a fighter like no other" in the upcoming GOP primary runoff this month.

    He also supported: Senator Dawn Buckingham for Texas Land Commissioner.

    The former president issued his support for former state Senator Pete Flores' reentry to the Legislature, as well as Phil Sorrells in the Tarrant County district attorney race, plus Frederick Frazier in House District 61.

    KXAN reported that Trump had 'enhanced security protocols' at the event.

    The city's Convention Center Department noted that while its own security and safety team would assist, the event's organizers would ultimately be responsible for security.

    Trump is protected by the Secret Service for the rest of his life as a former president.

    The conference center stated, "[The organizers] are also working with other national, local, and private security agencies."

    The agency said that it does not anticipate any additional costs as a result of the incident.

    Trump endorses Doug Mastriano, conclusion

    Despite being outspent on television by candidates like former US Attorney Bill McSwain and businessman David White, Mastriano, who has links to the QAnon conspiracy theory, was already leading in the polls in the splintered primary, Politico reports.

    According to a source familiar with the conversation, Trump contacted Mastriano on Friday to notify him of his intention to support.

    In a statement shared by Politico, Trump said: "There is no one in Pennsylvania who has done more, or fought harder, for Election Integrity than State Senator Doug Mastriano.

    "He has revealed the Deceit, Corruption, and outright Theft of the 2020 Presidential Election, and will do something about it. He will also Fight Violent Crime, Strengthen our Borders, Protect Life, Defend our under-siege Second Amendment, and Help our Military and our Vets.

    "He is a fighter like few others, and has been with me right from the beginning, and now I have an obligation to be with him," Trump continued.

    Trump endorses Doug Mastriano

    Just days before the gubernatorial primary, Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano received the coveted endorsement of former President Donald Trump, according to Politico.

    The thought of Trump endorsing Mastriano, a prominent figure in the drive to reverse the 2020 election results who was present at the Capitol during the January 6 uprising, terrified local and national Republicans worried about his chances in a general election.
