Queens man killed in early morning house fire

An elderly man was killed when a fire ravaged his Queens home early Wednesday, according to authorities.

Paul Agopian, 77, was found unconscious and unresponsive in the home on 55th Avenue near 90th Street in Elmhurst, where the blaze broke out just after 5 a.m., cops said.

He was pronounced dead on scene by EMS workers.

Two firefighters were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian medical center with minor injuries, and two other civilians refused medical attention on scene, according to the FDNY.

A total 60 units responded to the fire, which was under control by 6:30 a.m.

The cause remains under investigation.
