A MAN has been arrested for murder after a woman was found dead in a pub car park.

The victim, in her 40s, died after being discovered outside the Hors Inn in the village of West Parley, Dorset.

Emergency services discovered the woman’s body and the suspect with injuries to his arm, on Saturday afternoon.

Both were taken to hospital, but sadly she died the next morning.

The man was originally arrested for attempted murder, but the charge was changed to suspicion of murder when the victim passed away.

Dorset Police said the pair knew each other.

Det Ch Insp Richard Dixey said “I would like to stress that the death is being treated as unexplained at this time and we have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened.”

He called on members of the public to come forward with information – particularly those who were driving in the area with a dashcam, at the time.
