Young driver killed after losing control of SUV in the Bronx

A young driver was killed when he lost control of his SUV and smashed into two parked cars in the Bronx, police said.

Jeramiah Hamilton, 21, and an unidentified front-seat passenger were headed northbound on Crotona Avenue around 7:50 p.m. Friday in a 2005 Hyundai SUV when Hamilton swerved right and hit the other vehicles, authorities said.

Police found the SUV flipped over, resting on the driver’s side near the Fairmount Place intersection. Hamilton was discovered unconscious and with severe head trauma, police said.

An ambulance took him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His 23-year-old passenger was uninjured, according to authorities.
