The ‘In Da Club’ hitmaker reveals on ‘The Breakfast Club’ that he was about to greet Hov in Las Vegas when the ‘Reinassance’ artist seemingly assumed that he was confronting her then-boyfriend.
AceShowbiz –50 Cent recalled his past beef with Jay-Z during his appearance on “The Breakfast Club”. In the Friday, August 12 episode, Fiddy recalled when Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce Knowles was about to fight him in the name of defending her man’s honor.
Fofty shared that he was greeting Hov when Queen Bey seemingly assumed that he was confronting her then-boyfriend. “She was on, like a window sill. We was in Vegas,” the New York artist recounted. “She jumped out, she was like [makes confrontational face].”
The “In Da Club” hitmaker admitted that he was surprised by her reaction. “And I’m like, ‘Wait, what is you doing? That’s me and JAY-Z’s stuff, this ain’t got nothing to do with you, girl,’ ” he said.
Fif added that upon seeing Bey jumping out of the window, he wasn’t sure what to do next. He continued, “It was one of those situations where you were like, ‘Woah!’ If you say this to Jay, he’ll look at you and go, ‘Nah, that happened.’ “
“She came like she was ready!” the “Power” actor/executive producer went on to say of the “Renaissance” artist. “Like something was gonna happen! And I’m like, ‘Woah, woah woah.’ She throwing me off now ’cause I don’t know exactly how to respond to this.”
He added, “You are still Beyonce. She brought all of the sexy over with that energy jumping off.” He continued, “I look at Jay and he go [laughs]. Nah, he’ll tell you … I said, ‘Yo, alright. Whatever.’ ‘Cause really I’m just saying what’s up. But she’s feeling my energy come over because we do say things about each other – it’s a competitive nature, that’s it!”
Fiddy went on to joke about Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles‘ infamous 2014 elevator attack on Jay-Z. “If Solange was there, I would’ve had to reboot!” he said. “Solange was popping in that elevator like it was nothing. With some gangsta s**t going on. Jay couldn’t do nothing, huh?”
50 Cent and Jay-Z’s rivalry caused tension between the two rappers during their mainstream dominance in the 2000s. The former threatened Hov on his 1999 song “How to Rob”. To that, the Marcy Projects mogul subliminally fired back on “It’s Hot (Some Like It Hot)” which features him rapping, “Go against Jigga? You’re a** is dense/ I’m about a dollar, what the f**k is 50 cents?”
Fiddy also accused Jay-Z of mistreating Roc-A-Fella artists like Beanie Sigel and Freeway in an interview with Rolling Stone back in 2009. “He has a king complex, he thinks he’s f**king Jesus, you know what I mean?” he claimed. “This J-Hova s**t … He said something one time I didn’t like, those little things, subliminal things – for me, that’s the punk way to do things.”
The two stars have now squashed their beef with Fiddy confirming in his “Breakfast Club” interview that they’re on good terms now.
