Royal biographer Tom Bower just dropped his new book about the royal family, which seems to specifically focus on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry given that it is (very dramatically) called Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors. And among the book’s bombshell claims is that the Sussexes were concerned their friends were leaking stories about them to the press. Fair enough, considering what happened with Meghan’s own family!
Bower writes, via Us Weekly, that the couple were incredibly stressed about stories being leaked about them, and that at one point Meghan “suspected Victoria Beckham of indiscretion.” Per Bower, “Harry called David Beckham to repeat the accusation” and that “outraged, Beckham’s truthful denials damaged their relationship.”
Neither Meghan, Harry, Victoria, or David have commented on this report, but the Beckhams were invited to Meghan and Harry’s wedding, so—assuming this alleged interaction happened beforehand—sounds like things were sorted out by then?
FYI, Tom Bower’s book isn’t actually the first to report this story. Back in June, a source told The Sun that “When Meghan moved to London, Victoria shared a whole bunch of beauty tips but not long after, some of these emerged in print and Meghan was furious.”
This source said that “Harry is very protective of Meghan, and decided to deal with the matter head-on, by directly contacting his good pal, David. Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified. He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on — but it certainly made things awkward for a while. It later turned out the leak probably came from a beauty salon. Afterwards, they got things back on track, but it took a few months.”
Glad it all worked out in the end!
