Laura Hamilton shares video of her buying new car
A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has spoken out about how she’s “rebuilt” her life following a tough few years including the breakdown of her marriage.
Speaking on Instagram this morning, the 41-year-old posted a key update as she purchased a brand new car, still “pinching herself” as she celebrated becoming the owner of a Land Rover Defender 90.
Sharing a video of the climactic moment with her 187,000 followers, Laura could scarcely stop grinning.
“Yesterday was a very exciting day for me… and one that I’ll remember forever,” she enthused in the caption, alongside footage of her cruising along behind the wheel.
“I have worked unbelievably hard over the last few years to rebuild my life to make my children, friends and family proud,” she continued.

The moment marked a major milestone since the breakdown of her ten-year marriage with Alex Goward, with whom she shares two children – nine-year-old son Rocco and six-year-old daughter Tahlia.
“I came from a family that always taught me you have to work hard to create the life you want, and that is something I have always done always will, despite whatever challenges I face,” Laura wrote, attaching a “#notgifted” hashtag to her post.
As the shiny car was unwrapped from its cover, she emotionally continued: “It is easy to judge other people for the way they choose to live their lives and it’s something I never do.
“I think it is so important to stay in your own lane and ALWAYS make sure you are KIND. If you are a single, working parent you will know that life is a juggle.
“Everything I do, I do for my children and sometimes that means I have to be away from them. But, I won’t apologise for how hard I work because I truly believe that when they are older they will realise what I have done for them and I can only hope it will inspire them one way or another…”

She added that she was “unbelievably grateful” to her followers, friends and family, suggesting she couldn’t accomplish half of the amount she has “without their support”.
“Someone recently told me that it is so important in life to surround yourself with ‘radiators and not drains’. Let’s just say I am lucky to be surrounded by lots of ‘radiators’! You know who you are…” the excited TV host quipped.
Then, returning to her car, she confided: “I keep pinching myself that yesterday actually happened…
“Never in my life have I owned a new car so owning this is a dream come true! Thank you so much to James, Katie and Pat and the team @harwoodscroydon.
“I am so excited for the future AND for the ‘DEFENDER Adventure’ we are about to embark on.”
She was inundated with comments of congratulations from fans, with one, @soozywoozy13 exclaiming: “Laura you so deserve what you have in life as you work so very hard to make your children happy and seeing you all together says it all. Yes it can be tough at times spreading yourself between work and enjoying your children and family and friends but somehow you manage this so well. Congratulations well done!”
@daveywavey007 chimed in: “Omg, absolutely brilliant. You absolutely deserve that beautiful car. I’m so happy for you and I fully agree with your heartfelt sentiments.”(sic)
Earlier in the year, Laura revealed she’d been living with a friend and had even installed a small home gym there, while she also said she was learning how to pilot a plane in the hope she can one day fly herself to faraway destinations she visits for work.
