Football Focus presenter Alex Scott reportedly “made a beeline” for Dan Walker at The Legends of Football dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, leading to a “heated exchange of words”.
Their run-in at the event earlier this week came after Dan seemingly offended Alex with his comments surrounding Football Focus’s decreasing viewing figures.
A source told MailOnline that the presenters’ exchange lasted “several minutes” before they “parted amicably with a hug”.
Two weeks ago, the former BBC Breakfast presenter lamented that it was “hard” to see Football Focus “struggling” amid reports of a drop in viewing figures.
Dan, 46, tweeted: “It’s hard to see Football Focus struggling.

“I loved it growing up and it was an honour to present it and I still miss it. We poured everything into that show each week and worked hard to keep it relevant. I hope it stays part of the TV landscape.”
Alex, who replaced Dan on the show in 2021, seemingly didn’t take the tweet well as she soon hit back in the comments.
The Arsenal star, 38, replied with a GIF of a character sipping a drink and the caption: “Interesting.”
Dan, who now presents Channel 5’s 5 News, quickly defended his comments and clarified that he was not insinuating Alex had not also “worked hard”.

It seems the supposed “heated exchange” between Dan and Alex did not put a dampener on his evening as he went on to gush that he’d had a “brilliant night”.
Sharing a selection of snaps on Instagram, the father-of-three said in the caption: “I had a brilliant night at the @legendsoffootballuk event at @grosvenorhouselondon
“The night was in honour of @wrightyofficial & @emmahayes1 and we were raising money for @nordoffrobbins.
“I had a lovely chat with Lioness @mbrighty04, a good chinwag with Emma and her family and bumped in to a few pals too.”
