Amanda Seyfried made an entrance at last night’s TIME100 Gala, where she was honored, in a dress that reminded us of glamorous Old Hollywood.
The Mamma Mia! star wore a dramatic black high-low dress by Carolina Herrera, which she styled with matching heels with curved front straps. For jewelry, she opted for a diamond choker, custom-made by Catherine Sarr of fine jewelry brand ALMASIKA and crafted with De Beers diamonds ethically and sustainably sourced in Botswana. She finished the elevated look with a red lip and sideswept updo.
Red-carpet stylist Elizabeth Stewart shared a behind-the-scenes video of Seyfried’s pre-gala glam, along with a description of her look.
Of the diamond necklace, Stewart said Sarr created the piece specifically for Seyfried as part of the #BlackisBrilliant project initiated by De Beers and advocacy group RAD “to amplify Black voices and talent and give them fair representation on global red carpets.”

Seyfried brought her husband, Thomas Sadoski, as her date to the gala, which was held at New York City’s Lincoln Center last night.
The Life in Pieces star looked dapper in a black suit that complemented his wife’s gown and accessorized with an INARA pin. INARA is a nonprofit that provides conflict-impacted children with access to medical and mental health care. Both Seyfried and Sadoski are on the INARA board.
Also in attendance at the gala—which honors the most influential figures in the
world—were Euphoria star Zendaya and singers Mary J. Blige and Miranda Lambert.
