Angelina Jolie is one proud Spelman College mom. The 47-year-old actor and activist spent homecoming weekend at the HBCU in Atlanta with her eldest daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, who enrolled there as a freshman this fall. The mother-daughter duo were spotted walking around campus together enjoying various tailgate events and festivities — Jolie in an all-black outfit, a camel coat, and sunglasses and Zahara in a white top, jeans, and boots — and stopped to take photos with several students and alumni.
Twitter user @coco_michelle__ shared a picture of herself posing with the smiling pair on Oct. 22, writing, “Angelina Jolie just casually walking around with her daughter at Spelman during Homecoming.” They were also seen showing support for Georgia democratic candidates Sen. Raphael Warnock and Stacey Abrams — the latter of whom is a Spelman grad — by holding signs with their names at an outdoor event on campus. Another fan, Twitter user @BlackrThaBerry, posted a selfie with Jolie on social media and shared the conversation that brought their photo op to life. “Look I know you’re tryna be inconspicuous, so when we take this selfie just look down instead of me holding the camera up. Cool?” he said to the star before she apparently responded, “Great plan!” and smiled for the selfie.
Jolie previously visited Spelman in August to drop off her 17-year-old daughter to start the fall semester. “I’m going to start crying. I have not started crying yet,” the Oscar winner said in a video shared by the school’s vice president for student affairs during Zahara’s move-in weekend. A few weeks prior, she also attended a back-to-school event where she was seen dancing the Electric Slide with other parents.
