The Chase: Anne Hegerty tells Bradley ‘I hate you’
The Chase star Anne Hegerty has responded to a viewer who asked her how managed to lose against two players with a low score in the final round in Monday’s episode.
Anne, known on the show as The Governess, went up against contestants Cally, Robin, Sam and Julie, who got off to a good start.
The 64-year-old then managed to knock out two out of the four team members, leaving the remaining hopefuls to compete for a £12,000 cash prize.
After building up just 12 steps in the final round, it would appear that they had little chance of beating Anne, however this wasn’t the case.
In a surprising turn of events, The Governess struggled to answer some questions and only managed to build five steps, which essentially led to Cally and Robin winning the prize fund.

Presenter Bradley Walsh admitted he had “never seen anything like it” as he reacted to the unexpected result.
Viewers were also left wondering what had happened to the usually on-the-ball Anne.
One Twitter user commented: “Just saw yesterday’s @ITVChase episode where @anne_hegerty f***ed up big time again.
“What the f**k just happened there? #TheChase.”
Anne responded to the ITV viewer in view of her 158,000 followers, writing: “I can’t remember exactly, but I was simply having an extremely bad day.”

In a bid to raise spirits, the quizmaster’s fellow chaser Shaun Wallace stepped in to remind her of her usual successes.
“We all can have a bad day Anne but you mainly have very good days,” he tweeted in view of his 91,000 followers.
Others also shared comments to support the chaser.
@paulmfarrer typed: “Anne on a bad day is still better than most of us on a good day.”
@HoneybourneFarm wrote: “Love that you all support each other Shaun. I think one ‘off day’ in 13 years @anne_hegerty is pretty good going – I wish that was my record.”
Quoting Shaun’s famous line on the show, @Br1t2000 added: “Just another day in the office.”
Earlier on in the episode, Anne was left unimpressed when Bradley compared her to a train station as part of her introduction.
The presenter usually makes light-hearted digs at the chasers before one comes out to play, but the Governess seemingly didn’t approve this time.
Introducing Anne, Bradley said: “Could it be Anne? She’s less Victoria’s Secret and more Victoria’s Station.”
Realising her offish attitude towards him afterwards, he added: “I don’t write them by the way. I think Victoria Station is a lovely place. It reminds me of lovely places like you.”
After a slight pause, she said: “I’m not talking to you,” and swiftly moved on to speak to her opponent.
The Chase continues tonight at 5pm on ITV.
