TOWIE star James 'Arg' Argent has opened up about his newfound body-positivity after undergoing excess skin removal surgery.
Following his much-publicised split from Gemma Collins, the 35 year old ballooned up to 27 stone alongside the development of drug and alcohol dependencies.
He eventually managed to shed 13 stone via a gastric sleeve procedure, but Arg was then forced to live with folds of leftover skin that chipped away at his self-esteem.
Chatting to The Daily Mail, the reality TV personality (who's now in a relationship with Italian beauty Stella Turian) admitted that he'd walk around in XXXL-sized swimming shorts pulled up to his belly button in order to hide this skin, but a subsequent tummy tuck has given him a new lease of life.
"I went from 27 stone to 14 stone, so I lost 13 stone… I hit my target weight but if I wanted to wear a tight-fitting top, I would feel conscious because of my excess skin around my tummy and sides," Arg said.
"I knew that with skin there was nothing I could do with diet or exercise. I wanted to still feel confident naked or around the swimming pool.
"To be completely honest with you since my first operation, even though I had lost all this weight, I was still wearing double XL and triple XL swimming shorts and I would pull them above my belly button.
"Whenever I was around the pool or beach, I wore my swimming shorts really high to cover my excess skin so no one would see."
The TV star's tummy tuck helped him beneath the sheets, too, apparently.
"I am confident in the bedroom now… regardless of whether it's romantically or by a beach or in clothes, across the board I am more confident now in all of those areas," explained Arg.
"Whether you're a man or woman or have a dream body from the outside, everyone has certain parts of their body they wish they could improve, or they don't like no matter who you are.
"I don't want to be having anymore surgery, I've got no further plans for surgery it's not something that I want to go back to, but I felt like I went through that major operation, and I worked really hard, so this really was the icing on the cake."
Arg and 18 year old Stella met on the Greek island of Mykonos last year.
