The Summer I Turned Pretty author Jenny Han wants fans to expect the unexpected when it comes to Season 2 of the Prime Video series.
The show’s second season is set to follow the events that occur in Jenny‘s second book in the saga – It’s Not Summer Without You. However, it won’t be an exact retelling.
She teased a bit about what to expect in a new interview.

“There’s always gonna be changes here and there, so I guess you’ll just have to wait and see,” she told E! News.
She added that there was one person responsible for straying from the books: “I’m the one doing the changes, so I guess get mad at me, because I’m the one who’s changing it!”
We’ll have to wait and see exactly what changes are in store.
One thing we do know for sure is that a new character is joining the show – Elsie Fisher‘s Skye. Elsie and Kyra Sedgwick signed on for the series earlier this year.
The second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is expected to premiere on the streaming platform during the summer of 2023.
Jenny has previously opened up about the possibility of the show getting a third season.
