Sources claim that the ‘Master of None’ creator exchanges vows with the scientist in front of around 120 people in a beautiful setting in the northern Italian region.
AceShowbiz -Congratulations are in order for Aziz Ansari. According to a new report, the “Parks and Recreation” actor recently got married to Swedish forensic data scientist Serena Skov Campbell during an Italian ceremony.
Sources told Page Six that the comedian exchanged vows with Campbell in front of around 120 people in a beautiful setting in the northern Italian region. The insiders went on to claim that not many of Ansari’s famous friends attended the nuptials, but the “Sound of Metal” actor Riz Ahmed was among the guests.
Ansari first met Campbell when he was was living in London in the wake of his 2018 #MeToo scandal. He hit headlines in January 2018 when an anonymous New York-based photographer accused him of coercing her into performing sex acts following an early 2017 date, which resulted in the couple going back to the actor’s place. In response to the claims, the “Master of None” creator admitted that he misread a date’s wishes, but that he believed their sexual interaction was consensual.
Ansari and his now-wife Campbell were first photographed together in September 2018 at the US Open tennis tournament. The couple got engaged in December 2021 with him announcing the happy news on stage at the Comedy Cellar.
Prior to romancing Campbell, Ansari was in a long-term relationship with pastry chef Courtney McBroom. The two split in 2016 after dating for two years.
When asked if he had marriage in mind when he was still dating McBroom, Ansari said, “There are more and more people who don’t really feel so enraptured by the institution of marriage these days… There are so many more people who are like, ‘Oh yeah, we just went to the courthouse and got this thing done so we get a tax refund.’ “
