Bam Margera has found himself in more trouble.
Last week, the Jackass alum was hit with MORE legal drama after being arrested for a domestic violence situation… The San Diego Police Department told TMZ Tuesday they were called to an Escondido, California residence around 5:30 a.m. last Thursday, and when they arrived, the alleged victim of the dispute claimed the skateboarder had kicked her.
Apparently, the victim claimed Bam to be her “husband,” however, sources confirmed to the outlet she was not the reality tv star’s estranged wife Nikki Boyd, but instead his current girlfriend, who remains anonymous. The 43-year-old was arrested, charged with corporal injury, and later booked into the Vista Detention Center Facility. However, a day later, he was released at around 1:00 p.m. after posting bail for $50,000.
This, of course, isn’t the only legal situation Bam has found himself entangled in lately, as Nikki officially filed for legal separation last month after nine years of marriage. At the time, she cited “irreconcilable differences,” with her attorney, David Glass adding in a statement:
“Nikki Margera felt compelled to file for legal separation from her husband, Bam Margera, due to his continuing drug and alcohol abuse, erratic behavior, and due to his failure to provide support for her and their son. Nikki has put everything she has into trying to get Bam to stay sober, and to trying to preserve her family.”
As we’ve been reporting, the Viva La Bam alum has been in and out of treatment for his addictions for years, with him fleeing court-ordered rehab multiple times just last year.
Shortly after Nikki officially filed for divorce, it was revealed that her final straw was when Bam came to visit their 5-year-old son Phoenix — and was allegedly under the influence and acting inappropriately. While it’s not clear what his alleged inappropriate behavior entailed, it couldn’t have been great if it pushed Nikki to make such a tough decision…
If you remember, the 39-year-old actually filed for full legal and physical custody of their son back in September 2021. She is now asking for spousal support, and has agreed to granting him supervised visits, so long as they’re local and he pays his requested dues.
You may remember that Bam’s fellow Jackass co-star Steve-O also recently spoke out about his addiction issues, taking to Instagram last month to call him out for his behavior:
“Bam, last night you had your five year old son with you on stage at my show, and you were blessed with the chance to spend another day or two with him — then as soon as you left my show, you stayed up all night getting loaded enough to think it was a good idea to post more vile nonsense like this. I hope you understand how awful that is. You say you want to have a relationship with your son, but your actions guarantee the exact opposite will happen.”
We don’t know what else it will take for Bam to straighten himself out, but all anyone can really do is be there to support him in a healthy way. As for his domestic violence situation, Lieutenant Ryan Wisniewski, with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, told People Tuesday he is due to appear in court Thursday. We’ll just have to wait and see if the District Attorney chooses to drop the charges or go forward with them…
