Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Vincent Simone says the show’s curse is a “natural” development between the stars and dancers, with him saying the contestants are “only human”. The Italian dancer argues that as the couples spend “so much” time together, it’s inevitable that some will “fall in love”.
Speaking in a new interview, the 44-year-old said: “You spend so much time with this person and you know at the end of the day, we’re only humans. If you fancy someone, if you fall in love with somebody, let it be.
“That’s what humans do best, it happens everywhere, in any job or in any place in the world.
“This is just a natural thing you spend so much time, so many hours with this person, the celebrities give you their lives, they put their career in the hands of a stranger. They depend on you, believe you and depend on you,” he told The Mirror.
Vincent, who appeared on Strictly from 2006 until 2012, compared dancers to a “fantasy” and said you simply “can’t stop” sparks flying between couples.

He went on: “Dancers are sexy, we take care of ourselves, the way we move, we’re almost like a fantasy. You get to know that person and you fall in love with them, what can you do, you can’t stop it!”
During Vincent’s time on the show, he was partnered with the likes of S Club’s Rachel Stevens, EastEnders star Louisa Lytton and Tracy Beaker actress Dani Harmer. Despite reaching the final twice, he never won the show.
When he joined the series, he was in a relationship with his dance partner Flavia Cacace. However, by 2007, the pair split and she began dating her celebrity partner, Matt Di Angelo.
Despite this, Vincent and Flavia continued to dance and tour together. In 2015, he married flight attendant Susan Duddy. The pair share two children: Luca, 14, and Matteo, 10.
