The former star of ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ also slams the ‘Kardashians’ stars for not being ‘inspirational’ with their heavily edited social media pictures.
AceShowbiz –Bethenny Frankel is now calling out the Kardashians for their “irresponsible” Photoshop use. The former “The Real Housewives of New York City” star also roasted “The Kardashians” stars for not being “inspirational.”
The 51-year-old former Bravo personality told TMZ on Friday, September 2 that the reality stars’ social media uploads are “not fair to women just trying to get by,” calling them “irresponsible” and “reckless.”
“Moms feel insecure. … They don’t have time to do all this [Photoshop], nor they even know how to [with] the technology,” Bethenny further elaborated. She went on saying that women also feel that they “can’t compete” with Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Kylie Jenner.
Bethenny added, “The more we see these images, the more we think they’re real. It becomes a false ideal.” She continued slamming, “It’s not inspirational, it’s not aspirational. It creates eating disorders, insecurity, depression. It’s a serious thing.”
Bethenny then advised the Kardashians to “wear some makeup” and “be honest” about their plastic surgery instead of “outright lying” about filtering and Photoshopping. “The playing field becomes not level,” she continued. “When you’re already billionaires, you have access to so much more … and it makes people feel terrible about themselves.”
Bethenny’s comments arrived a few days after she seemingly threw shade at Kim with a comparison of what she “really looks like” versus an edited image after Kim’s alleged Photoshop fail. “This is NOT what I look like…and you know that bc [sic] I’m not vain and show you the real me,” she captioned the bikini snaps.”But if I posted a version of this every day you might start to believe that it might be.”
“Filtering is lying: it is deceptive. It makes women feel badly about themselves. It makes young girls insecure and obsessed with an unattainable perfection,” Bethenny added. “It makes middle aged women and mothers feel insecure about themselves. This creates a false ideal for men. It’s the opposite of inspirational. It’s destructive. It’s irresponsible. It’s insecure and it’s inaccurate.”
