While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Billie revealed that the album was coming together and shared a bit more information.
“We are almost done with this new album,” she promised fans. “So, at some point, you will know more, but I’m not gonna say anything right now.”
While we wait for new material, Billie opened up about her Barbie song “What Was I Made For.”
“I feel like it brought women together in this way that I feel like I haven’t felt part of like that and it made me feel really good,” she said about the reaction to the heartfelt song, adding, “And I also felt like it was bringing people together. It felt like we were all experiencing the life experience, you know?”
Billie shared that Barbie director Greta Gerwig gave her and her brother FINNEAS free rein when they created the song and showed them a rough cut of the movie. Their song wound up playing during a scene she was particularly moved by from the very beginning.
If you missed it, Billie recently revealed that one of her songs was inspired by Olivia Rodrigo.
