Billie Shepherd details nightmare flight holding baby Margot for 12 hours

Billie Shepherd has revealed her flight home from the Maldives was a "nightmare" with her four month old daughter Margot.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 33, recently enjoyed a luxury getaway with her husband Greg Shepherd and their three children, Nelly, eight, Arthur, five, and baby Margot.

The family's sun-soaked holiday ended on a less relaxing note however, as Billie encountered problems when they jetted home to the UK and had to hold baby Margot in her arms for 12 hours.

Speaking on The Sam and Billie Podcast, which she hosts with younger sister Sam Faiers, Billie explained how the only basinet available on the flight home was broken, which left her having to hold baby Margot for the entire 12 hour flight.

The mum-of-three revealed Margot needed her nappy changing five times too, before adding: “Anyway, we get on the flight and they’re like ‘really sorry the basinets broke’. One basinet on the whole flight."

She said she requested to move to a different seat but was told they had been reserved for passengers who had booked extra leg room.

“So I had to hold Margot in my arms for 12 hours – Greg and mum helped as well. I just thought ‘please don’t do this to me’," Billie said.

Sam, 31, revealed she encountered a similar problem when she jetted home from a recent family holiday to Dubai with her partner Paul Knightley and their three children – Paul, seven, Rosie, five and 11 month old Edward.

The ex-TOWIE star said she and Paul had to hold baby Edward for the entire flight home as there was no basinet available and the allocated basinet seat was taken.

“No basinet at all and Edward is 11 months and he’s heavy. Paul and I had to hold him the whole flight because the basinet seat was taken," the mum-of-three told her sister.

Sam continued, saying she also requested to move to a different seat but was refused as another couple, without a baby, had taken the four seats instead.

She branded the situation "bad" as she shared her frustration over those who had booked extra leg room being prioritised.
