Nearly one week after being slapped with gun possession by a felon charge, the ‘Wipe Me Down’ rapper is reported to be able to return home in the fourth week of June.
AceShowbiz -Boosie Badazz might have to fork out $50,000 for his release. Nearly one week after his arrest by federal agents for gun possession by a felon, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper, who was formerly known as Lil Boosie, was uncovered to have his bond set by a judge.
On Tuesday, June 20, TMZ reported that should the 40-year-old and his team be able to post the set bond in accordance with their plans, he is expected to be released in the fourth week of June. His lawyers, Meghan Blanco and Damon Alimouri, told the outlet that the bond was set during a hearing.
Boosie’s lawyers additionally revealed that prosecutors initially planned to make the rapper stay in custody until his trial. Fortunately, the judge did not accept the request and decided to set the $50,000 bond.
The “Out Here Grindin” rapper’s pal, DJ Akademiks, also shared the happy news on Instagram. Along with a screenshot of a post about Boosie getting a bond, Akademiks simply wrote in the caption, “Boosie has allegedly been granted bond.”
Boosie was arrested outside of a San Diego courtroom by federal agents on Wednesday, June 14. At that time, he attended the court in San Diego for a gun case. Shortly after his case got dismissed and he left the courtroom, he got arrested for another gun case.
Federal files of Bossie’s arrest, which were obtained by TMZ, showed that he was charged with gun possession by a felon, similar to his previous case. It stemmed from his Instagram Live streaming on May 6, wherein he was spotted having a gun tucked in the waistline of his pants while sharing the filming process of a music video.
Officers from the San Diego PD later pulled over a Mercedes SUV car that had Boosie, his guard and his driver in it. Upon further search, a cop discovered a loaded Hellcat 9mm in his guard’s bag as well as a loaded Glock 9mm on the back seat of the car where Boosie was seated.
The loaded Glock matched with the gun tucked in Boosie’s waistline in his Instagram Live. As a result, Boosie, his guard and his driver were all arrested. Investigators further claimed that they heard the spitter shouting at the guard, “You told me they were in the bag,” during the arrest.
