Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor has candidly reflected on her brief romance with Kim Kardashian’s ex Pete Davidson, two years on since the couple famously parted ways in August 2021.
The 28 year old star, who is best known for her role as Daphne in the Netflix period drama Bridgerton, briefly dated Pete for around six months between March and August 2021 with the duo first going public with their romance after being spotted sharing an intimate moment together while watching a tennis match.
During their romance, Phoebe was living in England, while Pete – who is Kim Kardashian's ex –remained in New York for his ongoing work commitments, with the long distance nature of their relationship placing a strain on their connection.
Prior to going public with their blossoming romance, Phoebe confessed that she didn’t expect her relationship status to be such a topic of conversation among the media, something she said she was incredibly “naive” to.
Discussing the high-profile relationship in October's edition of Elle Magazine, Phoebe said: "It just goes back to being naïve – I didn’t think anyone would care.”
“I was just being a young woman and dating and somehow that provoked a conversation. You realise, ‘Oh, I can’t live my life in the way that I used to. I have to keep my cards slightly closer to my chest.’ "
"There was a time, for example, when I’d post anything on my Instagram, and now I’m very, very careful about what I put out into the world."
She also discussed how scary it was to find paparazzi waiting for her outside her house. "Having men outside your house with cameras is super scary when you live on your own," she said.
Although her romance with Pete may not have lasted, Phoebe has since gone on to find love with actor Cameron Fuller, with the pair largely trying to keep their private life out of the spotlight.
Phoebe, who is the daughter of Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor, was propelled to mega-stardom in 2020 after Netflix show Bridgerton became an international sensation.
However the actress revealed that she hadn’t been prepared for just how famous she had become, with the Daphne star even admitting it had lead to anxiety as a consequence of being thrust into the spotlight.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar UK, Phoebe said: "I don’t think anyone knows how to handle that,"
“I worry about everything. I’m full of anxiety. I have a fear of failure, letting someone down, contradicting myself.
“You see what it is for your mental health to be in the public eye. I meditate, I have a therapist, and I walk every day. There are things I do to ground myself because it’s quite hectic at the moment.”
