Comedian and presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli has been arrested and charged with non-recent sexual offences, Police Scotland has said.
The 54 year old has been released and is due to appear in court at a later date.
Hardeep, who was brought up in Scotland, appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, which he starred on alongside Ryan Thomas, Kirsty Alley, Gabby Allen and Dan Osborne.
Before entering the house, Hardeep said: "It's better to have loved and lost than to have never gone into the Celebrity Big Brother house at all."
He came runner-up on Celebrity MasterChef in 2006 and has starred several other TV and radio programmes. He has also staged shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Hardeep is known for his strong political views and has campaigned for Scottish independence. The Glasgow-based comedian joined the Scottish National Party in 2014 following the referendum.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with allegations of non-recent sexual offences.
“He has been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
“A report of the circumstances has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
Hardeep's arrest follows an investigation by The Times which described how several people had raised concerns about him.
Police Scotland confirmed last month it was investigating the allegations.
