Christine McGuiness has quickly shut down rumours she and husband Paddy McGuinness have split after sharing a recent post on social media.
The reality TV star, who is best known for her role on the Real Housewives of Cheshire, took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal she had just returned home from a much needed break with friends in Croatia.
Yet it wasn’t the news of her return that laid rumours to rest, but the clear image of her huge diamond wedding ring still on her finger, as she drove to Cinders Party Dress in Liverpool to pick out a gown ahead of an upcoming red carpet appearance.
Earlier this week, split rumours began to circulate between the Lancashire funnyman and his wife, after Paddy appeared in a video on chef Chris Baber’s Instagram on Monday (June 27) and as he held up a canned drink, his distinctive finger tattoo was missing.
Alongside the video clip, chef Chris had captioned the post:“How’s your Monday going? @mcguinness.paddy #happymonday.”
Yet this cryptic question immediately sent fans into overdrive with many asking if it meant Christine and Paddy had decided to call it quits on their relationship.
The comedian had previously had a tattoo of a heart inked on his wedding ring finger, after he repeatedly lost his wedding ring much to his wife’s chagrin, and wanted something more permanent to commemorate his commitment to his wife of 11 years.
Further speculation about a possible split also gained traction earlier this month as the duo celebrated their 11th anniversary, but made no comment or post on social media like they had typically done in previous years.
Paddy also hasn’t appeared on wife Christine’s social media feeds since February this year; a promotional photo from the launch of their podcast TableTalk, which discussed the realities of parenting a sick or disabled child.
The podcast came hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed BBC documentary Our Family and Autism, where they spoke in detail for the first time about the unique challenges that came with parenting three children diagnosed with the condition.
All three of the couple’s children have been diagnosed with autism, with Christine receiving her own diagnosis in November 2021.
OK! has approached both Paddy and Christine for comment.
