‘I genuinely get letters of complaint!’ Claudia Winkleman hilariously reveals fans write to the BBC over her ‘distracting’ fringe
Claudia Winkleman has confessed she’s found herself at the centre of a complaints scandal at the BBC – over her ‘distracting’ fringe.
The Strictly presenter, 51, hilariously revealed viewers have written to the broadcaster over her signature barnet, which she claims has been deliberately styled so that she doesn’t need Botox.
She told The Sun: ‘I am a walking fringe. But I grew it a centimetre every month and then suddenly started getting complaints. I genuinely get letters of complaint.
‘The main concerns seem to be, “How does she see?” and “What is she hiding?” I also had a, “Have you got squirrels under there?” which was a particularly good letter.’
Claudia, who dabbled with the injectable in 2016, added: ‘I don’t need Botox now. Have you seen how long my fringe is? It is now almost upper-lip length, I cannot recommend it enough.’

Claudia looked almost unrecognisable in an unearthed 2003 clip shared to Twitter this week.
The TV personality was fresh faced in the footage as she interviewed Frasier actress Jane Leeves, 61.
Claudia made waves on social media as she appeared without her famous fringe with one fan declaring: ‘This is the first time I have seen Claudia’s forehead!’.
The Strictly star wore her naturally brunette locks loose and appeared to have yet discovered her love of eye-liner.
She was heavily pregnant with son Jake Thykier in the clip as she chatted with Brit Jane on the sitcom’s LA set.
Another fan wrote: ‘The lack of fringe is the real archive matter of interest here!’
With a third writing: ‘Claudia fringe less’ and a fourth: ‘Loving Claudia’s look there’.
It follows reports Claudia is set to return to the Scottish Highlands after being signed to host another season of BBC show The Traitors.

The presenter was a hit during series one, during which the 22 players – who were split into loyal faithfuls or traitors – battled it out for over £100,000.
And appearing to be thrilled with the show’s success, BBC One bosses are said to be bringing the show back for a second year this summer.
A source said: ‘These days almost every new series is a reboot of something that’s gone before.
‘So it’s really nice to try something fresh – and for it to do well. The Traitors got everyone talking, so bringing it back was a no-brainer. Claudia was perfect’, the insider added to The Mirror.
MailOnline contacted representatives of The Traitors and Claudia at the time.
