Actor Stephanie Davis candidly opened up about the “bad place” that her alcohol addiction left her in.
Stephanie, 30, who now attends regular recovery meetings, said that prior to getting sober she “didn’t see a way out.”
Speaking to The Mirror she said: “When I was in that bad phase, I was suicidal. I didn’t see a way out.
“That’s why I love what I do now because I can show people that if I can do it, they can too.
“I can say, ‘This is where I was, and this is what happened, and this is where I am now.’ I can help them through their journey – it’s the gift that keeps on giving.”

The former Hollyoaks star went on to say that she has since “grown up” and has worked extremely hard to be in the place that she is today.
“I’m proud of myself,” she continued. “My dad always tells me there’s one thing I am, and that’s a fighter, and I really am.”
Elsewhere, the actor said she believes, “everything we go through is preparing us for something.”
Putting a positive spin on her past experiences, Stephanie went on to say that, “hard times are where you grow as a person” and that the lessons you learn along the way help, “redirect you onto the path you are meant to be on.”

Regarding her return to acting, the star said: “This year, I was sitting at home and I said to Joe, ‘I need to do what I love, I need to hear “rolling up” and “action”.’ I was welling up, saying, ‘When I hear that, I’ll be back at home.’”
Stephanie also went on to say that she is excited to see what she can do now that she is in a clear headspace.
The 30-year-old announced earlier this year that she would be making her acting return — starring as newcomer Courtney Vance in Coronation Street.
