Danny Cipriani’s estranged wife Victoria fumes at the former rugby player for detailing their split on Instagram: ‘It’s an invasion of privacy during this fragile time’
Danny Cipriani’s estranged wife Victoria fumed at the former rugby player on Monday over an ‘invasion of privacy’.
The sportsman, 36, and the mental health campaigner, 42, who married in April 2021, called time on their relationship a fortnight ago following a series of ‘difficult’ rows over text messages on his phone, MailOnline exclusively revealed.
Danny released a statement to announce the news, telling his 221,000 Instagram followers that he ‘only wished the best’ for his ex.
But the post left Victoria furious as she hit back and for some privacy while she navigates their split.
Sharing a post to her Instagram Story, she wrote: ‘Not sure why Daniel needs to tell Instagram of his relationship status.

Victoria continued: ‘I don’t wish for the invasion, could I ask for some privacy while navigating this fragile time. Thank you.’
The couple, who married in April 2021, are set to call in divorce lawyers after they parted a fortnight ago.
A source in their inner circle and close to the couple revealed that up until the summer, all had been well in the marriage.
But the source added: ‘Victoria had been increasingly unhappy over the last few months. Things got tense and then she saw some text messages on his phone and it led to some difficult rows between them and they have now split up.’
The former England rugby ace has moved out of their Kent home and is staying at another address, although he has been seen visiting there over the last week, the source added.
‘They are both devastated at the breakdown of their marriage’ the source said.
Danny released a statement after the split, telling his 221,000 Instagram followers that he ‘only wished the best’ for his ex.
But in a blunder, he claimed they were separating after four years of marriage – when their wedding day was two years ago.

It’s over: The pair sparked speculation their relationship was in trouble when they unfollowed each other on social media
He shared: ‘Victoria and I sat together this weekend and agreed to separate after 4 years of marriage.
‘Whilst we’ve had some wonderful times together, we’ve also recognised we’re on different journey’s and whilst this is sad news, it’s also a new chapter for us both to pursue our own happiness. I only wish the best for Victoria and her children.’
The pair sparked speculation their relationship was in trouble when they unfollowed each other on social media.
A source close to the couple told MailOnline when they unfollowed each other: ‘It’s strange behaviour as they have always been so vocal about each other on social media.
‘The fact the content has suddenly stopped and they unfollow each other is hugely surprising.’
The former England rugby ace hasn’t posted about his partner for months, while health care campaigner Victoria appears to have ditched her wedding ring.
On Sunday, she posted a video on her Instagram Stories featuring an old woman dancing on a beach with a bird on her head alongside the caption ‘Me in the middle of another existential crisis’.
The couple started dating in June 2020 and Danny proposed to the mother-of-two Victoria weeks after they first met.
Victoria last shared a picture with Danny in October as she penned a cryptic caption about life ‘having its ups and downs.’
She shared: ‘Lately, I’ve been feeling a little highly strung, but I wanted to take a moment to share with you all that it’s okay. Life has its ups and downs, and right now, I’m welcoming this as a time of growth and learning. Every challenge and obstacle that comes my way is just another lesson in disguise, guiding me towards becoming a better version of myself.
‘Amid it all, I’m reminded of the importance of gratitude. So, here’s a list of things I’m incredibly grateful for: 1. My family is always there for me. 2. My fantastic friends who bring joy and laughter into my life. 3. The roof over my head provides me with comfort and safety. 4. Good health, allowing me to pursue my dreams and passions.’

Danny’s last post featuring Victoria was in April – a gushing love note to mark their three-year wedding anniversary.
His recent posts have mainly focused on promoting his bombshell autobiography Who Am I?, which was released in September.
As well as discussing his relationships with famous exes including Kelly Brook, Kirsty Gallagher and Katie Price in the memoir, Danny also gushes about Victoria and credits her for turning his life around.
He revealed the pair lost a baby, named River, but the tragedy brought them closer together.
Danny said: ‘Have I been in love with women in the past? Since meeting Victoria, I’m pretty sure I haven’t.
‘I’ve met lots of great women, and had some great experiences, but none of them made me feel safe or comfortable enough to reveal the real me.’
Danny and Victoria met via mutual friends and struck up an immediate bond.
Confirming the announcement on Instagram, weeks before she became a grandmother, he wrote: ‘I love waking up with you every morning, not knowing which one of our personalities is going to arise, and how we fall in love with each other over and over again. You make every day so much better, I can’t wait to get home from training every day to see you. I can’t imagine life without you.
‘You make me want to be the best man i possibly can for you and our family. You are my now wife to be. I can’t wait to marry you in October. You’re my lover my best friend, you are so loyal, incredibly intelligent, sexy with so much class.’

The sports star continued: ‘I learn from you all the time. I will never get complacent, you deserve the greatest love every day. We could be doing absolutely nothing for days on end as long as I’m with you.’
‘My dream of finding the one ai never thought would come true. And it has. I vow to you I’m going to turn up every day. Love and support you for the rest of our lives. Love you @rosierosee__.’
Victoria admitted she thought Danny was ‘an arrogant wally’ before they started dating, but he quickly won her over.

The womanising former Wasps ace claimed in his memoir he would sleep with up to three women a day before he settled down with his new partner.
He described how he would lure ‘everyone from porn stars to actresses to girls I meet at the coffee shop’.
On the opposite sex, he says: ‘Usually when I talk to women, I’m playing a role, a game, only revealing enough to get that familiar buzz. But Victoria can see straight through me.
‘She’s happy to call me out on my bulls**t. I wouldn’t say I enjoy it, but it’s certainly more stimulating than I’m used to.’
Danny never believed he was a sex addict, despite his lothario reputation, expressing constant pursuit of sex originated from a ‘place of pain’ which stemmed from childhood.
His dad left to live in Tobago when Danny was 10, and his parents separated when he was two.
He explained: ‘The push-pull from the female felt very similar to home. There was a sadness to it.

The split comes weeks Victoria was forced to read intimate details of Danny’s sex life – and his numerous A-list lovers – when he released his memoir called ‘Who Am I?’
The star enjoyed high-profile relationships with ex-Big Breakfast host Kelly Brook and TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher, as well as flings with US actress Lindsay Lohan, glamour model Katie Price, Cheeky Girl Monica Irimia, Aussie pin-up Lara Bingle and Celebrity Big Brother star Jasmine Waltz.
His was such a lothario, Danny claimed he could sleep with three women a day, luring ‘everyone from porn stars to actresses to girls I meet at the coffee shop’.
He also detailed in his book how he was ‘very disciplined with the timings, shuffling one girl out of the house just in time for the next one to turn up’.
His romance with Kelly was his most notorious after the pair dated between 2008 and 2010 while he was making his name in rugby union.
Danny revealed their relationship broke down after Kelly, 43, suggested he got a lap dance in a Las Vegas strip club and it led to the blazing row which ended with him cutting his wrists.
He claimed that he was drunk and the stripper ‘seemed to be doing more than dancing’, admitting he sang her some cheesy lyrics before telling the dancer that he planned to break up with Kelly and would be back in Sin City the next week.
But the stripper then told her pals in the club’s bathroom, which Kelly overheard.
He explained: ‘Kelly came out and slapped me around the face’ before she was restrained by bouncers.
The chaos of the evening took a huge toll on Danny, who headed back to the hotel and proceeded to self-harm with a piece of broken glass.
Danny said: ‘I felt like I just… I couldn’t express how I felt because I had so much within that I hadn’t dealt with. So that’s what I felt the route to take was.’

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, he said: ‘I felt like it was fair game… I felt like what was mine wasn’t mine any more. I was friends with Thom. It was definitely a difficult scenario.’
On his other A-list lovers, he described Mean Girls star Lindsay as ‘just really sweet’ and was keen to point out his romance with glamour girl Katie was not a proper relationship, saying: ‘I didn’t go out with Katie Price. But I did sleep with her.’
