Downcast Jo OMeara seen for first time since Paul Cattermoles tragic death

S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara appeared to look downcast as she was seen for the first time since the death of her bandmate and friend Paul Cattermole.

Jo, 43, was seen wearing a white jacket with her hair tied back as she walked her dogs in Essex with her pal Cindy Lazarus – just days after she opened up in a heartfelt tribute to her friend Paul, who sadly died at the age of 46.

Paul was found dead at his home in Dorset just months before he was due to be reuniting with the band for a 25th anniversary tour.

Jo said how "heartbroken" she was by the news of her friend's passing, thanking fans for their support during the sad time.

She began by writing: "I just wanted to reach out and Thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for the love and kindness you have shown over the tragic passing of our sweetest soul Paul.

"This has been utterly devastating, and I am totally shocked and heartbroken."

Jo said there is a "huge sense of sadness that will never go" after losing her friend.

"We have lost someone so incredibly special to us all, and there is a huge sense of sadness that will never go," she wrote.

"Paul will forever be a huge part of our lives, and I will forever treasure the memories we made! I will love you always Paul, God bless you my darling, Rest in forever Peace. Love JoJo."

The band, which is made up of Jo, Hannah Spearritt, 42, Rachel Stevens, 45, Tina Barrett, 46, Jon Lee, 40, and Bradley McIntosh, 41, also shared a tribute, with them saying that Paul's death has left the remaining six members of the band utterly “devastated” by his loss.

They said: "In this difficult time for all of us, it gives us strength to know that he will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family have requested that anyone who would like to can join us in making a donation in his honour to the National Youth Music Theatre, an organisation that brought Paul so much joy growing up. We love you all. S Club x."

Rachel also shared a personal tribute on Instagram alongside an old photo of Paul.

She began to write online: "Thank you so much for all your beautiful messages of love and support.

"The outpouring of love for our Paul has been so incredibly special and has meant so much. I hope he knew how loved he was."

Rachel continued: "Such a kind, gentle and sensitive soul with the most incredible energy and such a wild free spirit. He would light up any room.

"We are heartbroken but so grateful for the memories we all shared. An absolute shining star who we will love and miss always RIP darling Paul."
