Eamonn Holmes has celebrated Mother's Day with a touching tribute to his late mum, who passed away in November at the age of 93.
Eamonn is arguably most well-known for presenting This Morning, where he was usually seen alongside his wife, Ruth Langsford.
On Saturday, the 62 year old TV host took to Twitter, where he posted a short clip of his mum, Josie, for his 1.1 million followers.
“This is my first year without a Mother on Mother's Day. But I did an interview last year where I said how much I loved her,” he captioned the clip. “How glad I am I did. As you can see she seemed pretty happy. If you still have a Mum. Give her a hug from me and don't forget her tomorrow.”
In the clip, Josie could be seen reading The Telegraph, where Eamonn did an interview about his love for his mum, which she joked meant he’d “done something right.”
Fans and followers lamented over their own experiences in the comments while wishing Eamonn love during the difficult time.
“Oh what I would do for just 60 seconds with my mum. No greater achievement than giving life and love to another human being,” one person said.
Another said: “Very touching … sending a hug out to all you peeps who’ve lost your Mum.”
“Oh bless her and thinking of you and everyone facing tomorrow without their mother,” a third added, as a fourth chimed in: “What a lovely memory (of many) to keep forever.”
The Northern Ireland-born TV star, who earlier offered fans an update on his own health, announced the death of his mother on 19 November last year.
"My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon. She's at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation,” he captioned the snap at the time.
Eamonn continued: "We loved and will miss her so much. Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye.
"Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy.”
In the comments, the former Good Morning Britain host was supported by the likes of Susanna Reid, Gaby Roslin, Katie Price, and Emily Atack.
The following week on the day of the funeral, the TV host added: “To all of you who cared and sent so many messages of condolences re My Mum..I am genuinely humbled and overwhelmed. U have been a great comfort.
“We lay her to rest this morning. Thank you.”
