Former EastEnders hunk Charlie Winter, who portrayed malicious Hunter Owen, is now pursuing a career in music.
Posting a video of him singing a new song which sounds as though it was written for an artist like Justin Bieber, he wrote: “I been tryna tell her” with a shrugging emoji.
People took to the comments to praise his musical talent, with one follower even comparing him to Justin Timberlake writing: “Easy now JT”.
Another penned: “Releaseeee this asappppp Chazzzz” with a heart eyes and fire emoji.
A third said: “Low the Justin bieba ting!” while a fourth said: “Mad talented my g”.
The 27 year old left the soap in 2018 after a year’s stint in Albert Square after his character, who was the son of Mel (Tamzin Outhwaite) and Steve Owen (Martin Krmp), had an explosive showdown with police.
Hunter had shot Ben Mitchell (then played by Harry Reid and Keanu Taylor and had plans to kill Ben’s sister Louise (then played by Tilly Keeper).
He was eventually shot by authorities and died in his mum’s arms in the middle of the square.
At the time, a spokesperson for the show said: “We can confirm Charlie Winter is leaving and wish him all the best for the future."
An insider told Digital Spy ahead of his exit that it would be dramatic.
“Bosses are staying tight lipped on exactly how Hunter exits Walford, but after he shot Ray dead at New Year, it promises to be dramatic.
"Hunter will be on our screens for a while yet and there is still a lot more drama to come as he and his mum are faced with the fallout of his actions."
Before joining the cast of the iconic soap, he said that he was “so grateful” for the “surreal” opportunity to play Hunter.
"I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be on such an iconic show as EastEnders.
"It still feels really surreal that this has happened. It's an exciting time for me and I can't wait to get stuck in and for everyone to meet Hunter."
Talking to Soap Insider about his “vicious” character he said: “The reaction I’ve had has all been really pleasant so far, but viewers are yet to see what Hunter is capable of – so that might change.
“He can be quite vicious, so I’m interested to hear what the audience will think as time goes on.”
