It feels like Elon Musk has been CEO of Twitter for at least two years, right? But no – Twitter officially forced him to buy the company just before the case was heard before the Court of Chancery last October. He took over Twitter the week before Halloween. By Thanksgiving, he was already looking for someone to take over as CEO. In the months that followed his promise to step down as Twitter CEO, that man has been nothing but a Nazi doofus, changing the bird logo to the “doge” meme and platforming every hateful white supremacist and right-wing conspiracist in the world. He’s also lost billions of dollars, because this guy is not a genius, he’s just a pale weirdo with rich friends. Well, anyway, he’s put in his notice as Twitter’s CEO and he promises the new lady CEO will be on board in six weeks.
My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.

Six weeks is a long time, you know? Especially with Mr. Exploding Starship at the helm. He could still do so much damage to the hellsite, although to be fair, the Twitter experience has already gotten very bad. I also wonder if he’s going to try to sell it to recoup a fraction of what he and his bonesaw investors paid for it. The thing is… lol. Who would even want to buy it now? “Here’s a site full of the worst Nazis and Musk-obsessed goons and they’re all paying us $8 for a blue check mark, that’s our business.” “How much do you make?” “About $1000 a month.”
My primary concern was that the new CEO would be one of those Musk true-believers (I believe they’re called Emerald Mine Truthers) but it’s even worse than that – the new CEO is Linda Yaccarino, currently NBCUniversal’s chairman of global advertising and partnerships. The problem? Yaccarino’s Twitter looks like that of a MAGA true believer. She follows the worst accounts and the worst people. Not only that, but it looks like Yaccarino has strong feelings about the British monarchy and she is what we would probably call a “Deranger.” I can already sense a surge of those royalist bot accounts in six weeks’ time.
