Amy Walsh, who is best known for playing Tracy Metcalfe on Emmerdale, has opened up about the struggles of being a working mother in a candid new interview.
The 36-year-old ITV actress, who is preparing for her wedding both on and off-screen, is mum to one-year-old daughter Bonnie.
She welcomed her baby girl with her fiance, 32-year-old Toby-Alexander Smith, back in December 2021.
Ahead of her character tying the knot, Amy spoke to OK! Magazine about the challenges of returning to work whilst also juggling parenting responsibilities.
“I thought I used to be tired, but now I’m like, ‘How has everyone been doing it?!’” she said.

“It’s hard, I’m not going to lie, because my child’s not been sleeping at the moment, that’s tricky.
“When it’s your life, it’s a lot – but I secretly get a kick out of being pushed to my limits. So a part of me has got a new lease of life from the pressure.”
Amy has also shared how, despite leaving Bonnie at home while she’s at work, she then has little rest as she goes straight into filming with her two-year-old on-screen daughter Frankie (Eden Ratcliffe-Knights).

However, she has thankfully clarified that the young actress is actually a pleasure to work with.
“Eden is such a dream and thank God for that,” she said. “She’s so gorgeous and well-behaved. I’m like, ‘Aw!’ And she loves Jurell Carter, who plays Nate.
“I’ve asked if Bonnie can be an extra,” she added. “Just so I can see her a bit more. The producers think I’m mad. I don’t think that’d be a wise move!”
Amy also spoke excitedly about her off-screen nuptials as she and Toby, who played Gray Atkins on BBC’s EastEnders, prepare for their big day.
Meanwhile, her character Tracy left the village a couple of years ago following her break-up with Nate Robinson in order to make a fresh start in Nottingham – but now she’s back.
When she returns, it seems she will be set to walk down the aisle to tie the knot with a hunk new man.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
