Is A$AP Rocky coming for Travis Scott in his new song?
The 34-year-old rapper preformed an unreleased track for some lucky attendees while headlining the Rolling Loud festival in Miami over the weekend. In a video posted on Amazon Music‘s Twitch account, A$AP’s savage lyrics left fans with their jaws on the floor — and wondering who he was dissing:
“First you stole my flow, so I stole your bitch / Then you stole my style, I need at least like 10 percent”
At the end of the clip, he rapped:
“All due disrespect, I hope you take offense”
Damn!
Ch-ch-check out the clip (below):
Now, those lyrics may seem pretty vague with no context! But fans think they know exactly who the Fashion Killa rapper is dissing — his lady’s ex.
In the comments, social media users gave their take on the situation:
“Cooked Travis”
“Travis Scott Vs Asap Rocky is pay per view worthy”
“bro wants a 10% commission from Travis ”
“Nah he taking shots at Trav”
“I’m so confused about this lol. Travis style is no where similar to Rocky’s.”
“Wait we reheating Travis vs Asap beef?”
“This is more disrespectful to Rihanna than anyone”
Back in the mid-2010s, Travis dated Rihanna while he produced a few of her songs. Neither of them ever addressed their romantic link at the time, but then in 2020 the Umbrella singer went on to make her relationship with A$AP public. Since then, the pair have had a son named RZA together and have another child on the way — so fans are speculating the “stealing” lyrics was the Praise The Lord rapper talking about taking RiRi!
The evidence just keeps going, though, as earlier this year A$AP called out the Sicko Mode rapper for copying his style on an episode of REVOLT‘s Drink Champs. In the episode from May, host N.O.R.E. said:
“Travis Scott stole his whole style from A$AP Rocky.”
To which the Am I Dreaming rapper agreed wholeheartedly, and said:
“I saw similarities, for sure. I saw that he was inspired and s**t like that, but that’s what we in it for … Imitation is the best form of flattery. If people wasn’t trying to imitate you, then you’re doing something wrong.”
Seems he feels differently about it these days? You can see that episode for yourself (below):
This diss comes right before the release of A$AP’s new album Don’t Be Dumb, which has been highly anticipated since he first announced it was coming late last year. To everyone’s bigger surprise, though, Travis surprised announced on Sunday his new album Utopia is dropping THIS Friday! Coincidence — or on purpose?? Hmm…
We’ll just have to wait and see if there are any more disses on their upcoming albums. What do U think, Perezcious readers? Sound OFF (below).
